Zweigelt Graf Hardegg 2017
A beautiful example of what this Austrian red grape is capable of in a cool climate: fine fruit, soft tannins, cherry and sour cherry with a touch of almond on the palate.
Origin: Selected vineyards in the Pulkau valley, northern Weinviertel
Soil: Sedimentary rock with a good amount of clay

Vinification
Fully matured grapes were harvested by mid-October, de-stemmed and left to cold maceration for 2 days to extract fruit. During 10 days or so of fermentation in 100% stainless steel tanks, fluid must is poured daily onto the solid components to obtain the optimum in colour and extract. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, this Zweigelt with fine notes of fruit matures in large, traditional oaken barrels in the perfect atmosphere provided in the tubes of the estate cellar.
